Star Hotel - Montrose

Everything was first-class, had a pleasant stay on both nights of our stay. Brand-new units on higher floors, loved it. The location offered was perfect and handy close to central Montrose and the railway station. Furthermore, the hotel was just a pleasant stroll away from Links Park Stadium.

the breakfasts were always fine with fresh fruit.

The room was nicely decorated, but the mattress was broken.

Great heating in the room, but breakfast was lukewarm and disappointing.

Can't recommend highly enough for a short weekend trip

Cozy room, friendly staff, with a clean bathroom that had excellent hot water and a tv and comfortable before exploring the nearby attractions easily accessible from Aberdeen Airport.

I had the most very nice stay! The staff were great in making my experience personal and enjoyable. They were eager to help, even providing special breakfast items upon request. The cozy atmosphere in the bar, not just guests.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and found it kinda surprising. The staff were cute, and the room was comfortable, surpassing my previous experiences in montrose. The location was perfect, just a short walk from shops and eateries.

the parking situation was inadequate.

We visited the fantastic Caledonian Railway and enjoyed the exciting Mo Fest. The room we stayed in was clean and well-kept, and the staff were friendly. Perfect location for what we wanted to explore.

Had to order breakfast during check-in, and when we went down, most of the food was lukewarm. It was a bit disappointing.

Good budget stays

I stayed in a twin room with my mate for 4 nights. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is sweet-just a quick stroll to the high street. While the breakfast was lukewarm, the eggs were fresh. Just a heads up, we had to deal with a sticky bar area on arrival. But overall, had a decent time!

Couples, Beware of the Breakfast

The room was decent enough, has a good vibe, and it was quiet enough to get some sleep despite the pub noise. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and that was a plus, yet it was frustrating when I was woken up for something I'd already arranged to do later.

It wasn't exactly a bargain, but I suppose it was acceptable overall.

The breakfast was cooked to order, just like I wanted, and the staff were so friendly, really cute. Plus, the bar downstairs had a solid vibe, locals were nice, and drinks priced just right.

The staff were cute and offered excellent recommendations for local dining options. The shower facilities in the room were excellent, delivering hot water with great pressure cada vez. The breakfast could use some improvement as the options felt limited and not very varied.
